Ameerah Briggs is from Sumter, SC and based in Brooklyn, NY. Her credits include M. Night Shyamalan's Split, and Equal Standard opposite Marc John Jefferies and Ice T. Ameerah booked her first solo show (filmed for the stage) The Bull-Jean Stories featured in The Drama League's Directorfest in NYC. She also stars in the short film, Reasons, which has appeared in several festivals, currently including The Micheaux Film Festival.

Outside of acting Ameerah is also a visual artist. She was recently featured in an exclusive Gala event and the Black Joy exhibition for The International African American Museum in Charleston, SC.

As part of our Studio Program, PlayCo facilitated a weeklong development workshop for playwright and costume designer Celeste Jennings' new play Contentious Woman, which culminated in an invited reading on June 22, 2022.
